INFLUENCE OF EDGE MARKING ON THE ACCIDENT RATE AT “NARROW” TWO-LANE ROADS

The article gives the analysis of edge marking influence on the accident rate at “narrow” two-lane roads, on the basis of the data of the central databank of Texas Police Department. The conducted research allowed to describe quantitatively the edge marking influence on the reduction of the accident rate at two-lane roads with carriage way width of 5,5, 6,0 and 6,7 meters. The formula for the feasibility analysis of marking drawing at special sites of “narrow” two-lane roads, defining the expected level of accident rate after the project realization, is deduced.
