IT-MANAGEMENT OF TECHNICAL MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF WATER SUPPLY SYSTEMS

The authors consider the issues of improving the efficiency of water and wastewater treatment plants by implementing the cost management system and transferring repair crews to the self-financing. It is well known the wear of water supply systems in Russia is more than 60 % and the main budget cost item of almost any water and wastewater treatment plant are the expenditures for accident eliminations. The application of modern facilities of gathering and transferring information using an IT-technology being developed at Rostov-on-Don water and wastewater treatment plant will allow: recording on-line all processes occurring during the repair works on accident eliminations; preventing almost completely the distortion of primary information, minimizing the time and labour intensity for preparing reports of fulfilled repair works; creating an information base for implementation of team self-financing thus facilitating significant cost savings for accident eliminations.
