The design and reconstruction of the Square of the Fallen Fighters in pre-war Stalingrad is considered. First attributes of the various buildings is produced, their specificity in the host city planning and building of architectural look is identified. New information about authors-architects and engineers who formed the town planning complex of the center Stalingrad, is described. Stylistic and features of buildings, designed in the years 1928-1938, are discussed. The search for a new style, which combines techniques of constructivism and the logic of classical planning tracks, relying on the ambidextrous symmetry, is recognized as the basis for work on the architectural and artistic work of building the central square of the pre-war Stalingrad.
