LABORATORY RESEARCHES OF THE BEARING CAPACITY OF THE BASIS OF “PERIODIC” BURIED STRIP FOUNDATION

The results of the research of the bearing capacity of “periodic” buried strip foundation carried out in the laboratory are provided. It is proved experimentally that the bearing capacity of the basis of such foundation depends on the distance between its elements. There is such distance at which, under all other equal conditions, the size of the bearing capacity reaches its maximum. The bearing capacity of the foundation depends essentially on the size of coefficient of lateral soil pressure and its physical and mechanical properties. It is possible to find such value of coefficient of lateral soil pressure when the numerical values of maximum loads reached by experiment will practically precisely coincide with the sizes received from the condition of joining of areas of limit state of soil under the foundation base.
