EXPERIMENTAL JUSTIFICATION OF POSSIBILITY OF USE OF CONDITION OF COULOMB’S STRENGTH FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF STABILITY OF HORIZONTAL DEVELOPMENT LOCATED IN ACTIVE ZONE OF STRIP FOUNDATION

The article describes the laboratory experiment on the determination of size of load on model of buried strip foundation when loss of stability of underground development of round cross section located in active zone of the last one is experienced. The process of formation of the model and its loading is described, data about geometrical parameters and strength properties of the equivalent material are given. The results of calculations are presented in the form of pictures of isolines of tension and areas of limit state of soil near the development. The conclusion on the possibility of use condition of Coulomb’s strength for the assessment of stability of the underground development located near the buried foundation is drawn.
