This article focuses on the typology of modern health facilities in Russia, on its formation in the course of history and on perspectives for further development in the sphere of institutions providing medical care. The study of this issue is necessary to identify new requirements for architectural and planning decisions in projects of reconstruction and new construction of hospitals.
