MELBOURNE EXPERIENCE OF THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT DEVELOPMENT

The number of urban population on the Earth is continuously renewing and growing. Today there are more than 7 billion people. In the middle of the XX century in industrialized countries there was more than half of the population. That is why there are concerns of specialists in all countries about the issue of sustainable urban development. Moreover, in Russia the tendency of moving of people to large cities with the population of over 1 million people is actual. These cities have the greatest influence on the environment. The problem of sustainability of the natural-human systems in large cities is considered by the example of the experience of Melbourne (Australia) and Foshan (China).
