This article is devoted to the analysis of the construction industry in view of Russia's entrance into the World Trade Organization. The study examines the main characteristics of the construction sector, including foreign trade and forecast of the industry development in the coming years. Special attention is paid to opinions of experts in the given field. The author analyzes the state of the industry at the moment, describes the main problems and shortcomings of the construction sector. The data survey conducted using the resources of RBC to determine people's opinions about the consequences of Russia's WTO accession for the construction industry are provided. The study examines the importance of harmonization of technical regulations and standards for the construction industry.
