INTERACTION OF CATERPILLAR BULLDOZER WITH SOIL

The nature of interaction of the caterpillar running device and bulldozer blade with soil is considered. Comparison of energy consumption for collapse of soil by caterpillars in vertical and horizontal directions is carried out. It is noted that it is necessary to take into account the area of pressure as values of coefficient of volume soil collapse depend on it. To determine the cutting load of a bulldozer it is offered to consider resistance from overcoming soil friction force on blade sheet under pressing force of not only soil weight in drawing prism, but also of horizontal movement and soil cutting. It allows estimate the reduction of the actual cutting force of a bulldozer.
