THE USE OF GEOINFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR ENGINEERING SERVICE OF BUILDING SITES

The paper covers the issues of GIS implementation in the process of building site development. Contractors can achieve additional benefits when using GIS as the obtained data help them to make more rational decision. The result is an improved cooperation between participants and the optimized time of single operations on construction site.
The authors model the length of engineering development of building site as criterion function depending on the probabilistic factors combined in several blocks. For example, these factors reflect the location of building site, characteristics of soil, existing infrastructure, transport system, means of communication, etc.
Summarizing technical functions of GIS, the authors present the table in which the role of GIS is determined for each stage of building site development.
The obvious advantage of such approach is that the spacious data are entered into GIS once but then they can be used during the lifecycle of the object.
